Pampa biome is one of the five biomes that exist in Brazilian territory. Pampa has been neglected, as a conservation point of view. Grazing can be considered one of the important determining factors for the conservation of the Biome. The objective of this study was to test NDVI, EVI e SAVI vegetation indices as spectral indicators of the vegetation variation and of pasture structural differences caused by grazing intensity. The study area focus on natural grasslands experiment, located in the central depression region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Randomized block design is used with two replications with different levels of forage supply: 4, 8, 12 and 16 kg of dry matter per 100 kg of live weight. NDVI, EVI and SAVI images from the Landsat satellite TM and OLI sensor were obtained from 2010 to 2016. Vegetation indices showed a season pattern of variation throughout consistent the year with the growth of natural grasslands. In addition, the vegetation indices showed variation according the different to forage supply levels. The evaluated vegetation indices therefore were able to express the seasonal dynamics of the natural grassland vegetation in the Pampa biome and were able to express differences in pasture structure due to the different forage supply treatments.
